Diplomatic attempts to find a solution for Iran’s nuclear issue finally led to adoption of a deal titled as “Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action” (“JCPOA”) in July 14, 2014 between Iran and China, France, Germany, Russia, United Kingdom, United States of America and the High Representative of the European Union (E3/EU+3). The deal declare that after conducting certain measures by Iran, economic sanctions against Iran will be lifted. As a result, UN Security Council adopted resolution 2231 in July 20, 2015 endorsing JCPOA and declaring that as the “implementation day” of the JCPOA (January 20, 2016) all the sanctions mentioned in previous resolutions of the UNSC will be terminated and EU and USA are obligated to lift the sanctions mentioned in Annex II of the JCPOA. Consequently, after January 20, 2016 and pursuant to UNSC resolution 2231 all the nuclear-related sanctions against Iran is lifted both by the UN and E3/EU3+3.
